UEFA Women's EURO 2029: VELTINS-Arena is part of the German bid

Gelsenkirchen could once again become the stage for top European soccer: The VELTINS-Arena is part of the German Football Association's (DFB) preliminary bid for the 2029 Women's European Championship.  

After numerous top-class international tournaments and matches, the home of FC Schalke 04 is ready to make history once again. With its modern facilities and unique atmosphere, the VELTINS-Arena offers ideal conditions for teams and fans. 

As a club with a deep-rooted soccer tradition, FC Schalke 04 is increasingly committed to promoting women's soccer. The nomination of the VELTINS-Arena as a potential venue is another strong sign that women's soccer is becoming increasingly important and is being given a special stage at Schalke. 

Final selection of venues in June

The tournament is to be played with 16 teams over 31 match days at an anticipated eight venues. The DFB will make the final selection of venues in June, and the final documents for UEFA's international bidding process must be submitted to UEFA by August 27, 2025. The UEFA Executive Committee will announce the host of the European Championship in December 2025.
