PETA Deutschland e.V. named the most vegan-friendly Bundesliga stadium of the 2022/2023 season on Wednesday (21 June). FC Schalke 04 secured the title for the fourth time in a row with its offer.

With 38 points, the Knappen even scored seven points more than at the last award ceremony in 2019. The award was presented for the 15th time this year. The assessment is based exclusively on the range of purely vegan dishes on offer - and Königsblau has a lot to be proud of: Schalke Catering offers its guests a wide range of vegan dishes in the VELTINS-Arena. In addition to stadium classics such as pretzels and chips, these include vegan lahmacun, vegan grilled vegetable wraps and vegetable ravioli, vegan mince rolls with tomato filling and vegan currywurst with jalapeño sauce.

Guido Kabacher, Managing Director of Arena Management GmbH, is delighted with the award: "We want all our guests to feel completely at ease in the VELTINS-Arena. This also includes fresh and delicious catering. At Schalke, it goes without saying that we also think about those fans who eat vegetarian or vegan food." According to Kabacher, a plant-based diet is also good for the environment. "In line with our sustainability strategy, we want to gradually expand our vegan offering and are already delighted that it has been so well received."
