The bett1.de Biathlon World Team Challenge at Schalke 2025 is in the starting blocks: On Sunday, December 28, fans can once again experience the best biathletes live in Gelsenkirchen. Tickets for the biggest biathlon spectacle in the world are now available at a discounted early bird price for two weeks.
For the 22nd time, the Biathlon at Schalke will offer exciting duels on the snow and an attractive program away from the race track. Tickets are now on sale at tickets.schalke04.de and in the ticket store of the German Ski Association (DSV).
"The biathlon at Schalke has had incredible appeal for more than two decades - here in the Ruhr region and beyond. Every year, we inspire millions of winter sports fans in the VELTINS-Arena and in front of the screens," emphasizes Matthias Tillmann, CEO of FC Schalke 04. "Together with the DSV, we are already working intensively on the planning for this year's event."
For Felix Bitterling, Sports Director Biathlon at the German Ski Association, the bett1.de Biathlon World Team Challenge is also a set date in the annual season planning: "Of course, we can't yet say which of us will be competing in December. But participating in Schalke is also a certain accolade for our athletes. That's why countless fans in the stadium and the millions in front of the screens can definitely look forward to seeing our two best teams again. Just as will be the case with the other nations. Biathlon at Schalke is now simply too important to be able to do anything here with half the effort.
German success at the WTC 2024
At the biathlon WTC last December, the German teams in particular were able to celebrate: Anna Weidel and Justus Strelow, who celebrated his premiere at Schalke, as well as Franziska Preuß and Philipp Nawrath triumphed in the pursuit and completed the podium after the Norwegian duo. Weidel and Strelow were delighted with second place, while Preuß and Nawrath finished third.
Great atmosphere in the stadium and winter village
The impressive atmosphere from the Schalke stadium is also transferred to the outdoor area, where biathlon fans cheer on the duos directly on the cross-country ski run. There will be an exuberant party atmosphere throughout the day in the winter village with DJs, hands-on modules, sponsor stands and a variety of culinary offerings. An entertainment program with live music acts and spectacular show effects round off the event. It is precisely these goosebump moments that make the biathlon at Schalke unique.
