VELTINS Arena Events
Since its opening in 2001, the VELTINS Arena - until 2005 it was still called Arena AufSchalke - has been able to establish itself not only for events in the Ruhr region, but throughout Europe. Today the largest open-air stage, tomorrow the home ground of FC Schalke 04, the day after tomorrow a ski slope, exhibition center, opera house, venue for the next corporate event, ice stadium or boxing temple - the VELTINS Arena is a true quick-change artist.
To date, more than 30 million people have seen international music acts here. people have seen international and national music acts such as U2, Ed Sheeran, Robbie Williams, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen, Metallica, Depeche Mode, Helene Fischer, Herbert Grönemeyer or PUR, listened to dramatic opera productions or feverishly watched sporting events such as the Biathlon on Schalke, the world record attendance at the 2010 Ice Hockey World Championship, the Klitschko boxing events and the 2004 Champions League final.
The VELTINS-Arena is an institution for great events in Gelsenkirchen and the Ruhr area and beyond.
