Eighth edition of "PUR and Friends" with celebrity guests in the VELTINS Arena in Gelsenkirchen on September 6, 2025: The exceptional German band celebrates the big anniversary of their multi-platinum album "Abenteuerland".
PUR is the most successful German-language pop band of all time. Singer Hartmut Engler and his colleagues underline their exceptional status time and again with spectacular live shows. Their performances at Schalke are among the greatest they have to offer. Since 2001, the band has given seven legendary mega-concerts in the VELTINS Arena in Gelsenkirchen. Next year, the musicians will open a new chapter: On September 6, 2025, they will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their cult album "Abenteuerland".
After the big open-air tour in 2024 with a total of 28 dates, some of which are already completely sold out, "PUR and Friends auf Schalke - 30 Jahre Abenteuerland" is the only PUR concert in the coming year. In Gelsenkirchen, the group will perform on an elaborately designed stage in the middle of the arena, highlighting the special connection they have with their audience.
"Abenteuerland" was released in August 1995 and, with more than two million copies sold, is one of the best-selling albums in German music history. Produced in Nashville, Munich and Bietigheim-Bissingen, the longplayer includes classics such as "Ich lieb' dich (Egal wie das klingt)", "Ein graues Haar", "Dass es dir leid tut" and, of course, the title track. The album reached number 1 in the charts and went platinum four times. A PUR musical entitled "Abenteuerland" has also been showing at the Capitol Theater in Düsseldorf since autumn 2023.
The previous Schalke show in 2022 was completely sold out long before the date.
