The VELTINS-Arena has been the home, meeting place and emotional center for generations of Schalke fans for 25 years. To mark its anniversary, S04 is once again investing in the future of its stadium: Following the opening of the Kumpel-Lounge, the redesign of the Tibulsky VIP area sends a strong signal for modern hospitality with royal blue soul.
On around 600 square meters, a place for over 300 guests is being created that offers an exciting mix of modern atmosphere and the rustic charm of classic Ruhr area pubs. The ambience could hardly be better suited to its namesake, Otto Tibulsky, who won the German championship six times and the cup once with the Knappen.
Born in Gelsenkirchen and an indispensable part of the legendary Schalker Kreisel, he and his wife Trude took over the S04 clubhouse at the Glückauf-Kampfbahn - later to become the club restaurant Haus Bosch - after his soccer career. In addition to selected motifs showing "Ötte" Tibulsky during his active time, he can also be seen behind the tap in one photograph.
Schalke 4.0 - emotionally rooted and ready for the future
The redesigned Tibulsky thus completes a circle: the hospitality area not only combines tradition with modern structures, but also a piece of Schalke history with the biography of the center half. Guests can look forward to a rustic and charming atmosphere.
Striking buffet and bar areas form the centerpiece and create meeting places - before the game, at half-time or long after the final whistle. At the same time, a modular and mobile structure ensures that the area can be used flexibly: for exclusive events, modern business formats or special evenings in a unique atmosphere.
VELTINS-Arena as a meeting place
"The modernized Tibulsky combines tradition with the future and translates this claim into the design. We are creating another meeting place where people can come together, share emotions and experience FC Schalke 04," explains Matthias Tillmann, CEO of the Royal Blues. "The VELTINS-Arena has been our living room and the heart of the fans for 25 years. To do justice to this significance, the club is continuously investing in its further development."
Another measure of the modernization process in the VELTINS-Arena is the renewal of all hospitality seats in the upper tier with upholstered seats - for more seating comfort during the game.
