Every year again - and yet with numerous new surprises: On Sunday, December 28, the Winter Village opens its doors and transforms the bett1.de Biathlon World Team Challenge into a feast for all the senses. Between culinary delicacies, atmospheric music and sporting passion, a winter wonderland will be created directly in front of the VELTINS Arena, which will delight fans, families and party-goers alike.
Winter Village party zone - presented by Hitzkopf
The heart of the Winter Village is the party zone on Rudi-Assauer-Platz, directly in front of the legendary Thousand Friends Wall. Here, Hitzkopf, presenter of the Winter Village party zone and official mulled wine and punch partner of the biathlon at Schalke, provides cozy warmth and a real hut atmosphere.
From 12 noon, DJs Lars Bremkens and Sebastian Hup traditionally get visitors into the party mood with current hits and classics. If you still haven't had enough after the exciting duels on the cross-country ski trail and at the shooting range, you can end the day here at the atmospheric après-ski party.
Right next to the stage, the second edition of the Biathlon Darts World Championships will be held in the Biathlon Darts Arena - this time with 24 teams throwing for fame and glory with plenty of good humor. Just a few meters away, Alpenpark Neuss invites you to a special event: Visitors can take a seat in a real Pistenbully vehicle and take souvenir photos.
Adventure mile at the Arena-Ring
In addition to the music, the focus is of course on fun: the arena ring is transformed into a glowing winter village promenade with a variety of hands-on activities.
Adrenaline fans have the unique opportunity to try out a ski jump from Ski-Club-Willingen - with landing on real snow guaranteed. Whether biathlon laser shooting, snowball throwing speed control or biathlon goal wall - everyone can become an athlete in the winter village.
Competitions and the JOKA truck with a wheel of fortune will also provide entertainment. The German Ski Association (DSV) and numerous WTC partners will also be presenting exciting offers and merchandising highlights.
Culinary variety
A visit to the Winter Village would not be complete without the right treats. Numerous stalls with winter and regional specialties await you along the promenade: whether vegan delicacies from "Las Vegans", hearty dishes from "K wie Kartoffel", classics such as pizza, kebab and falafel or fresh potato pancakes with apple sauce - nobody has to go home hungry here. Those who prefer sweet dishes will also find what they are looking for: Waffles, crêpes and fairground classics such as roasted almonds, candied apples and popcorn await winter sports fans. Aromatic mulled wine and punch from Hitzkopf provide a warming drink, enveloping the winter village in a scent of cinnamon, fruit and good cheer.
