In the Arena AufSchalke: England celebrates narrow opening win against Serbia at EURO 2024

A narrow victory for the favorites in the first of four EURO 2024 matches in the Arena AufSchalke: England won 1:0 against Serbia on Sunday (16.6.).

In a game full of atmosphere, Jude Bellingham scored the decisive 1:0 for the Three Lions with a header in the 13th minute, rewarding his team for a strong opening phase. After conceding the goal, the Serbs got into the game better and kept the match evenly poised until the final stages. However, the goal to make it 1:1 was not to be, so England secured their first win in Group C.

In four days, on June 20, the Arena AufSchalke will be the venue for a real classic in international soccer: Spain, the 1964, 2008 and 2012 champions, will face two-time winners and reigning European champions Italy at 9 pm.

On June 26 (9 p.m.), Georgia and Portugal will face off in Gelsenkirchen before the fourth and final match of EURO 2024 is played on June 30 (6 p.m.) in the Arena AufSchalke. The winner of Group C will play a third-placed team from Groups D, E or F for a place in the quarter-finals.
