VELTINS-Arena is the most visited stadium in Germany

The royal blue living room defended its title from the previous year and was also the most visited stadium in Germany in 2019. This was the result of the annual visitor ranking by the magazine Stadionwelt INSIDE.

A total of 2.56 million visitors flocked to the multifunctional arena last year. In view of the fact that there were no international group matches for the Royal Blues in the second half of 2019, an increase in visitor numbers of more than two percent compared to 2018 is impressive. The VELTINS-Arena once again achieved a top ranking in all categories: sport, entertainment, corporate events and other events.

Concerts by national and international stars such as Herbert Grönemeyer and Pink attracted numerous visitors, as did the big 90s party in spring with David Hasselhoff. Another highlight, as always, was the traditional Biathlon World Team Challenge at the end of the year. A large number of very well-attended special events also contributed to the visitor statistics and, of course, to FC Schalke 04's overall turnover. In the end, the VELTINS-Arena clearly relegated the Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt (2.12 million visitors) to second place.
